Ok, I've tried out the 15 day enterprise trial. I'm thinking about getting the VPS version but I'm a bit confused over how many CPU's this is going to use.

The VPS i'm on is a dual opteron, so '8' cpu's, I hear VPS edition uses just 1 cpu?

Also, how will switching from corparate version to VPS version affect my load (in theory, server wp-super-cached pages)

Yes, the lshttpd in VPS edition uses 1 CPU.
should be fine for a VPS, give it a try.

Did the number of connections get reduced to 300 from 500?
