Hello
we are very interested in your product.

we currently have image hosting webpage with more than millions of hits per day.
it is on xeon 3330 machine with centos

since we have a lot of hits we are looking to update apache for best performance.

That would be great if you can tell us detailed benchmarks.

Thank you

To install all you do is execute one script, then answer some extremely simple questions. If you're successfully admining a site that receives over a million hits a day this should be no issue for you.

We will have some benchmark results after v4 is officially released.
Are you going to only benchmark with the new disk-cache enabled? This feature is only available to 2-CPU enterprise clients so I'd personally like to see benchmarks both with and without it enabled.

Thanks!

the OP is a lil demmannding i think. Would be interesting to know this site of his.

Anyway, litespeed is exceptional serving media or images. Some high traffic sites running litespeed are funnyordie.com, supernovatube.com, and astalavista.com. the first two are media sites, images and videos. the third one is just a big dynamic site that serves a lot of files.

Some high traffic anime sites which serve media are www.zomganime.com , zone-anime.com , and animetake.com

Some example image sites, nnot real high traffic but good examples as you can notice the difference in page/image load times are www.photocouncil.com , http://imgspot.com/

There are lots more and the list is growing everyday. On managing servers for high traffic media sites I would rather have litespeed 2 to 1 over anything else. It requires less hardware, it reads apache syntax, uses less resources and overall its just awesome.

I would advise anyone to do lighttpd and litespeed for a test drive and run some benchmarks of your own, you will see that litespeed smokes lighttpd.
