is it possible to see historical information of what you can view on the 'real time report' in the admin GUI?

i'd like to see what my maximum simultaneous connections peaked at for the day

Please install our caccti integration.
Sorry, I have to respectfully disagree with this. While cacti "should" get the high water mark, since it's taking a snapshot every 5 minutes it's really easy to miss a big spike that is relatively short.

It should be better than not having it. Maye we will add a 5 minutes high water mark in the real time report. :)

being able to see this in the normal reporting would be a big help as its kind of a headache to setup ccti just for this purpose with snmp etc

or if there was a commandline tool that could display it that could be run out of cron or something...
