Disable Autoupdate?
 

Our web servers are embedded and ussually will be on a private network.

I would like to not have teh autoupdate service run at all.

Is there a way to safely remove it?

Autoupdate will fail on private network anyway.
You can try removing the updateagent binary, but there will be an error logged into error log.

OK, I thought there might be a configuration setting that could be removed or inserted that would do it...
