suggestion: SPDY protocol support (mod-spdy)
It would be amazing if Litespeed had dual support for Google's SPDY protocol in addition to HTTP
http://www.igvita.com/2011/04/07/lif...-googles-spdy/ Apparently Chrome can use it now and it's up to 64% faster than HTTP. mod-spdy is open source, so the code could be studied http://code.google.com/p/mod-spdy/ More details here too: http://www.chromium.org/spdy/spdy-whitepaper |
More SPDY news, they are working on it for Firefox:
http://bitsup.blogspot.com/2011/09/s...about-you.html Litespeed should definitely consider implementing it for a future release, would give you an edge over other webserver software. |
Firefox 11 will have SPDY by it's mid-March release:
http://hacks.mozilla.org/2012/02/spd...to-firefox-11/ So the two most popular browsers will have it, as well as options for nginx and apache. Is SPDY support on LiteSpeed's radar? |
+1 from me
