100% dynamic website with Apache 2.2

Hi,

We are running web/DB server combo with 8 Cores/ 16GB RAM / SSD drives cpanel server having apache 2.2 and mysql 5.1 server. Site is 100% dynamic in php/mysql with data been updated every few minutes.

If we want to migrate to litespeed - how many cpu license we need to buy ? 8 cpu license as web server have 8 core on Xeon QuadCore E3-1230 ?

And will litespeed be a major speed boost for such dynamic php/mysql based application ?

Please Advise.

Thanks

you can start from 2-CPU license.

likely php will be the bottle-neck, best to disable php suExec so opcode cache(APC, xcache) can work to boost php performance.

compare with apache, litespeed will use less memory and cpu load is lower.

Thanks for the reply.

I believe cache need to be off completely ? as our website is very dynamic with updates every few minutes or you are referring to something else ?

Thanks

yes, page cache should be off, but opcode cache(APC or XCache) is different. you can google to find the answer yourself.
