100% dynamic website with Apache 2.2
Hi,
We are running web/DB server combo with 8 Cores/ 16GB RAM / SSD drives cpanel server having apache 2.2 and mysql 5.1 server. Site is 100% dynamic in php/mysql with data been updated every few minutes. If we want to migrate to litespeed - how many cpu license we need to buy ? 8 cpu license as web server have 8 core on Xeon QuadCore E3-1230 ? And will litespeed be a major speed boost for such dynamic php/mysql based application ? Please Advise. Thanks |
you can start from 2-CPU license.
likely php will be the bottle-neck, best to disable php suExec so opcode cache(APC, xcache) can work to boost php performance. compare with apache, litespeed will use less memory and cpu load is lower. |
Thanks for the reply.
I believe cache need to be off completely ? as our website is very dynamic with updates every few minutes or you are referring to something else ? Thanks |
yes, page cache should be off, but opcode cache(APC or XCache) is different. you can google to find the answer yourself.
