We're happy to announce the release of LiteSpeed Web Server 4.2.3 and PHP LiteSpeed Server API 6.2.
LSWS 4.2.3 brings with it a variety improvements and a couple bug fixes.
A new option to hide the LiteSpeed signature in the default error pages.
The server can now use sendfile() to send back dynamic responses.
A new option to stop the server from aborting external application processes even when the client connection has been broken.
The PHP suEXEC daemon can now kill PHP child processes that do not stop automatically.
Connections have been reserved for the WebAdmin console to ensure accessibility regardless of the current number of connections.
The CGI daemon will now log processes killed by signals to stderr.
The PHP build utility now supports PHP versions up to 5.3.25 and 5.4.15.
Fixed a bug in how rewrite rules handled the FileETag directive.
Fixed a bug in FreeBSD realtime stats.
PHP LSAPI 6.2 adds some important features.
As noted above, the PHP suEXEC daemon now has the ability to kill runaway child processes.
Faster child process recycling for better memory usage.
A shorter process naming system for ease of use.
Please see the blog for more details on new LSWS features.
We also have two updates on version and OS support:
As of version 4.2.3, version 4.2.x will be considered the main release. The download links for version 4.1.13 have been removed (though you can still get older version through the WebAdmin console).
We are no longer supporting Solaris SPARC. Our apologies to any SPARC users.
Remember that this is still the cutting edge. We'll be fixing bugs for the next week or so, after which we'll push this version to the AutoUpdater. You'll get an email when it's ready for autoupdate. Let us know any feedback, bugs, or requests. As always, thank you for choosing LiteSpeed!
