Okay, but then how is this different from doing everything by hand at the command line? It seems misleading to have a web-based interface if you've got to drop into Terminal anyway.

Having the UI seems to suggest that it is sufficient. Given that it is not, it would be helpful to have some indication of this on that page of the web console. Do you see what I mean? From the user's point of view, since it is downloading PHP itself, why would it not download the other libraries needed as well, and everything?

If for some reason it is not possible for that to happen, then ideally the script that runs could check for each of the needed libraries, and give a user-friendly message informing the user what's missing, rather than just an error and the log. That would go a long way to helping LiteSpeed be much easier to use.

It is a lot harder to do what you want. and some are just one time job, some require special permission, etc. Every system is different, it closes to be impossible to make it work well on all the platforms.

When you need to upgrade your PHP binary, you will appreciate the GUI.

Well, you have to install all the libraries/packages that PHP modules depends on. It is not a problem of the LiteSpeed GUI, but your development environment
