Question SSL not working with PHP/Drupal

I'm running a vm host from slicehost.
Amd 64 cpu.
Ubuntu 7.10

I built php 5.2.5 using Litespeeds control panel with these arguments:

--with-mysqli=/usr/bin/mysql_config --with-zlib --with-gd --enable-shmop --enable-track-vars --enable-sockets --enable-sysvsem --enable-sysvshm --enable-magic-quotes --enable-mbstring --with-iconv --with-mcrypt --with-config-file-path=/home/blah/www/php

Suhosin, Mail Header, and Xcache

Here are the ssl libraries I have installed:
Code:
	Package Class	Description
 	libcurl3 7.16.4-2ubuntu1	K-O	Multi-protocol file transfer library (OpenSSL)
libnet-ssleay-perl 1.30-1	K-O	Perl module for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
libssl-dev 0.9.8e-5ubuntu3.1	K-O	SSL development libraries, header files and documentation
 	libssl0.9.8 0.9.8e-5ubuntu3.1	K-O	SSL shared libraries
openssl 0.9.8e-5ubuntu3.1	K-O	Secure Socket Layer (SSL) binary and related cryptographic tools
stunnel 3.26-dfsg-2ubuntu1	P-T	Universal SSL tunnel for network daemons
My php info show that openssl is in fact enabled with the values below:
Code:
Registered PHP Streams php, file, data, http, ftp, compress.zlib, https, ftps
Registered Stream Socket Transports tcp, udp, unix, udg, ssl, sslv3, sslv2, tls
I have generated and installed a ssl certificate which I specified by it's own listener and works fine.

I'm using the same cert to secure litespeed.
Webmin's ssl access works as well. Though it uses it's own server.

I'm scratching my head here, because to me openssl seems to be installed correctly, yet Drupal doesn't see it as being enabled, and I can't access my site using ssl.

Any suggestions on how to remedy this is greately appreciated.

Thanks.
