chroot: do I understand this correctly?

The Enterprise Edition makes it easy to set up a chroot jail, but is it still possible to jail the standard edition? I mean, it should be possible, you just don't get any help with it from the software, right? You're on your own to figure out how to get it working, right? But nothing has been done to make it impossible, no?
