Default concurrent connections

is there special reason why I'm getting flooded with
--- edit: ok it was cause of the limit in the free edition...

----edit

while I'm here, could you help me set a proper configuration up to use all my resources of the server properly without having to edit every single setting the next few weeks..

Using the enterprise edition ofcource.

server specs:
Ubuntu dapper
PHP 5.2.3 - apc (lsapi ofcource)
mysql 5.0.22
2.6.15-28-686 #1 SMP i686 GNU/Linux
cpu: Intel Xeon-Clovertown 5320-QuadCore 1.86GHz
ram: 2x2GB

The site is a community with around 2000 simultaneous users online. With loads of images, using smarty to cache sql results to get the sql to be as affective as possible.

yea figured that

now all that is left is to see for 10 days if ls can make mysql behave better memory-whise then apache did. If so then instead of a server upgrade we will purchase ls ent. for sure
