Its on top 15-20 processes, is it considered as "consume most cpu cycles"?

Code:

Your litespeed process does NOT use much cpu cycles. no need to upgrade at this point. It is the php process consumes heavily. You should either improve your php code or setup opcode cache to offload php.

Can one license be installed on multiple servers?

No, one license can only be installed on one server. If you have VPS, each VPS will require its own license. The license is generated based on server hardware signature. So if you upgrade your server hardware, please make sure your license is still valid.

ok sir thanks for exg. if i have a 2 tb hd in my server and i upgraded my hardware means i add 2tb hd more then we in this case our license will valid or not

I am in a confusion in selecting the right LiteSpeed license for my server , I read the related topics and pages to this matter in knowledgebase and forum but one of my friends who is a computer engineer told me this :

In regards to the CPU question, it means physical CPUs, a Quad-Core and Hex-Cores may function as multiple core servers but are still a single physical processor unit. If your server was running dual, quad, or more CPUs then you would be looking at the higher end licenses.
so I really don't know what to do !!!

This is my server : Intel i7-4770
Quadcore Haswell
incl. Hyper-Threading Technology

Would you please tell me what is the right Plan for me ?

you can start from 2-CPU license, monitor the traffic and performance, and change the type of license monthly-base.

the CPU here not mean physical CPU, core looks better than CPU in the license context, but this term has been there for years and is not likely to change soon since it may confuse all of our current customers.

your CPU will be ok to run 4, 8-CPU license.

the best way should be you and every user feel the site faster and no one complaint.

there are many automatic monitor tools in the net, but is hard to tell which one is the best.

the first and most important thing looks to be the network traffic.
then google analytics is an ideal tool to track your site's traffic hourly, daily, monthly.

LSWS does not keep track of CPU usage itself, but you can easily find this information from a top command. (The LSWS process will be named lshttpd.) You can track it with a monitoring application like Munin.

I am purchasing new server which is unfortunately not managed.
This server uses 40-cores CPU.

On my old server (32 cores CPU), i use 4-CPU license.
In my old server, the CPU load is not high and everything runs fast.

For maximum performance in my new server, should i choose 4-CPU license or 8-CPU license?
Is the performance gap between 4-CPU and 8-CPU very big?

At this moment i just bought new 4-CPU license for my new server.

And FYI after reading the wiki :
  1. Most processes are for dynamic sites (vbulletin forum), no download site things.
  2. I don't have https traffic at all.

Thank you.

It may not have much difference in your case.
since the bottle neck is php-mysql (vBulletin forum)
I suggest you to focus on optimizing php/mysql.

anyway, after current 4-CPU has running for some time and stable, you can try upgrade to 8-CPU for a short time, see if any difference. if not, downgrade to 4-CPU.

Hi all. LiteSpeed has been suggested to us by our web developer and our web hosts don't have any concerns with it, but our hosts won't go as far as providing feedback on the pros and cons, other than to say they wouldn't expect any issues if we switched from Apache.

Our first hurdle is to determine what license would be best for us.

Our server build is:

CPU 2 x 8-Core Xeon E5-2620 v4 2.1 GHz w/HT
Memory 64GB DDR4
Uplink Speed 1000 mbit
Operating System CentOS 7 (64bit)
Control Panel cPanel/WHM
Hosting 10 sites but only required to support 3.

Any guidance/thoughts/questions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.
Warren
