I am trying to survive from some DOS attack.
The thing is my members also use NAT IP( same IP for many users) so i cant set Dynamic Requests/second = 1 all the time as this will eliminate legimate visitors.
So, i always set Dynamic Requests/second = 0 most of the time, and when i am attacked(and i am noticed) i just change it to Dynamic Requests/second = 1, then when the attack is over, i set it back again so that i am not blocking legit visitors.
So my question here is that:
1/ Can i change this config via command line? If yes, how? Since my company block all un-usual ports, so the only way for me to change this config is via control panel and AT HOME.
2/ Is there a script that can detect if the WAITQ pass 10 or so, then they auto change the config of Dynamic Requests/second to 1, then if everything okie for 5 minutes or so, it change Dynamic Requests/second = 0
3/ I am using 1 CPU licence, would Dual CPU or Quad Cpu licence help in this case? I have a single Xeon quad core 5335
