lscgid: execve(): Permission denied

Hello All,

we have something slightly weird going on with one of our cPanel boxes. For 99% of the clients when they access www.domain.tld/cpanel it works fine. For just a few sites they get "lscgid: execve(): Permission denied". I'm guessing it's a permissions issue or something like that but when I look at the working domains vs. non-working domains I see nothing different.

Any pointers?

From what we get from a server of another customer, seem cPanel has change the way how /cpanel script alias was configured from

ScriptAliasMatch ^/cpanel/(.*) /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/redirect.cgi
ScriptAlias /cpanel /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/redirect.cgi

to

ScriptAliasMatch ^/?cpanel/?$ /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/redirect.cgi

Can you please check your server as well.
I am not sure it is the root cause or not, we will give it a try in our lab.

Yup, we have the latter (this was a server that was just built last week). Since the alias is global, why does it work for some and not for others? Any eta on the fixed release (not pushing, just wondering).
