Hi

After upgrading to 3.3.1.3 , found some problems

Litespeed was running fine, and after a couple of hours I noticed that apache is running.

I am now not able to start litespeed, apache is stopping but lsws is not starting.

service httpd stop
service lsws start

which is stopping apache but not starting litespeed

root@core2quad [/]# service httpd stop ; service lsws start
/etc/init.d/httpd stop: httpd (pid 4239?) not running
root@core2quad [/]#

apache is running, then why it is showing that httpd is not running ?

root@core2quad [/]# /scripts/restartsrv_httpd
/scripts/restartsrv_httpd: line 16: kill: (9834) - No such process

same thing happened here-- I woke up today and found apache running which broke most of my sites (they require php of at least 5.2 and apache was only setup with 5.1.x) -- rebooting now to see if it boots with litespeed

if not i'll need to reinstall litespeed (installing an older version before all these problems started)

### EDIT ###

after running "reboot" its back to running on litespeed -- i'll see if/how long before it goes back to apache

Are you using "Override Restart HTTP script" option? cPanel may try to start Apache somehow and messed up the PID file.
Looks like the "replace Apache httpd" option is more reliable for now.

I have to say I'm a bit more than nervous to upgrade based the the "small" feedback that I've seen so far. Does anyone have any positive feedback with LSWS and cPanel?

i've tracked it down to when interworx tries to restart apache (not sure what the other person who origionaly posted this ttopic has for a control panel)

"Load Apache Configuration

Yes
Auto Reload On Changes

No
Apache Binary Path

Not Set"

##edit

interworx never used to try and restart apache while litespeed is running (or if it tried (which i would have never even known about) litespeed always kept running)

In order to make cPanel happy, LSWS 3.3.13 write its own pid to Apache pid file, it may have side effect with other control panels, other control panel may be able to get pid of lshttpd and kill it when it want to restart Apache.

We will have it addressed in 3.3.14 release.

Litespeed 3.3.13 = unstable

Lot of small small downtimes ( getting reports from siteuptime.com , serviceuptime.com , host-tracker etc )

Downgraded to 3.3.12.
