Scripted Configuration vs. CP/GUI config

Hi,

I know there's no .htaccess configurability, but is there an official way that one can edit Litespeed config via sed and awk (and shell scripts in general) to build a configuration in an automated way? I see that the CP is built in PHP, and I can probably figure out how it works, but if I'm fighting an uphill battle . . . well I guess that makes me just want to use Nginx. I really want to like Litespeed, as it's allegedly faster for PHP execution because of the LSAPI and slightly better static serving too. Mod_rewrite compatibility is nice, too.

Any clues? Does everyone use the CP? Or is there, for example, a way to plop in rewrite rules via script in a file (even if it requires a server restart?

the master configuration file is /usr/local/lsws/conf/httpd_config.xml, like apache's httpd.conf
you can edit it via script (sed / awk / python / perl) etc, it's same effective to edit it via CP in PHP.
at the end, graceful restart lsws to make your changes effective
#/usr/local/lsws/bin/lswsctrl restart
