I had this issue in a earlier version of Litespeed, but it seemed to have gotten fixed. I'm seeing a similar behavior now which only seems to be affecting Wordpress.

When a customer is managing their blog, they will get random 500 errors.

This is what error_log says during one of them:

I lied about it only affecting Wordpress, I just tried to download to 4.1.7 via lsadmin and it gave me the same error during the download process.

George got it fixed up, somehow the connection timeout value went from 120 to 12, I blame the backspace key! Upps!
