unexpected signal=9, no core file created

CENTOS 6.9 x86_64 standard – host cPanel & WHM 64.0 (build 7)
LS: 5.1.14 (latest version)

Email:

Subject: Web server xxx on xxx automatically restarted
At [07/Apr/2017:11:24:00 -0400], web server with pid=19864 received unexpected signal=9, no core file created. A new instance of web server will be started automatically!

Receiving about 10 emails per day over the last 3 days.

Do you have CSF running? CSF can kill processes that it thinks are hanging. Try adding the following to you csf.ignore file if you are running CSF.
pexe:/usr/local/lsws/fcgi-bin/lsphp-*
pexe:/usr/local/lsws/bin/lshttpd.*

It's a cPanel / WHM issue, and I've had it ever since the upgrade to new WHM 64 earlier last week.
I submitted them that bug and they've (apparently) fixed it in the latest version of WHM 64.0.9:
  • Fixed case CPANEL-12453: Teach ApRestart to understand litespeed.
I have yet to test it on my end on two of my servers, but here's to hoping that patch covers that issue...

So far, that update solved it... I haven't received a single alert since. And haven't had any other issues with the update, even though it's still classified as EDGE... just an FYI from my experience so far.
