Installation

Installing LiteSpeed Enterprise is very easy.

If you are using a control panel such as cPanel, DirectAdmin or Plesk, the corresponding LiteSpeed AutoInstaller/plugin/extension for each of these control panels is highly recommended. Please check the installation instructions for cPanel, Plesk and DirectAdmin.

If you are using a different control panel other than those mentioned above, please follow this guild.

If you are not using a control panel but your website has already been setup with Apache, please follow this guild for installation/migration.

If you want to install LSWS on a Mac OS X, please follow this guild.

If you are planning on installing LiteSpeed in standalone mode, you can always use command line installation guild. Of course for CentOS system, you can also use RPM installation guild for faster installation.

This wiki refers to LiteSpeed's Enterprise version only. If you experience any problems when running the install.sh script on LiteSpeed's Standard Edition, please click here. To install openlitespeed, please check open.litespeedtech.com or compile from source code and install from RPMs.

Please note that this section only provides your instructions to install LiteSpeed Web Server. You also need to install and configure PHP to make your application work, such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento etc. LiteSpeed comes with a very small PHP binary - lsphp5 with minimum configuration for testing purpose. You would certainly, I believe, like to customize PHP by yourself to suit your needs. Please consult PHP wiki section for installation/configuration.
