Switched to LSWS, server not using free memory

#21
Hah. Well, the motto of HBO was, "It's not TV, it's HBO"... but after some certain shows had a high level of sex and nudity, there started to be jokes about young actors getting cast in those roles that, hey, "It's not porn, it's HBO"

Again, if you think that caching of static sources reduces whatever, then use a CDN. If the load goes to high for dynamically generated content keep the cache always warmed. However, the cache crawlers offered by LiteSpeed are lame ducks and cause a relatively high server load. You should therefore look for alternative solutions. With LiteSpeed Web ADC you also have the option of distributing the high load, but this only makes sense if you operate more than 1 server.
In theory we could run more than one server, but OTOH we are not highly experienced (as you may have guessed) and getting this one server up and running was a lot of work in itself that only moving to LSWS really helped us solve. Working very well so far.

I admit, I've not read much about the crawler, so I need to learn more bout it. I turned it on reflexively but maybe it's not optimal for us.

Unfortunately, there is no smiley to express the fact that I'm slapping my thighs with laughter. So just imagine it. :)

There is not much or special configuration to be able to use LSWS satisfactorily even under maximum load. However, you have to differentiate. LSWS is just a web server that can only be as fast as PHP and MySQL provide the data for delivery. If you notice problems with the load or speed, then LSWS is not the cause, but the CMS you are using. At least if a page is not yet cached. That's why it's important to eliminate the actual cause of any problems!

My first name is Michael and the second is cache and how to warm it, so whenever you have questions about cache and warming it just ask me. :)
