Since auto update is not available anymore, what is best way to upgrade LSWS?
From command line and to not touch cPanel and apache or:

- switch to apache
- recompile it with new php version and new apache version
- build against it and recompile LSWS

yes, when specify same installation folder, install.sh will prompt install or upgrade, select upgrade. hmm...for 3.3.x version, if it's a owned license, be sure first it's still in one year free upgrade period.

I pay per month, but I installed 3.3.24 and I still got that installation directory, later on everything was upgraded via web panel. Until now when no longer auto update is possible.

so your lsws is leased license, no problem to upgrade to latest version.
after one time upgrade to 4.x manually, auto upgrade will be there.
maybe 3.x auto upgrade has been deactivated at our license server's side.

mistwang said that it is not possible to upgrade via web update because some permissions were changed from 4.0.6 version, so I guess when I upgrade to latest version there will be no problem upgrading from 4.0.14 to later version.
