    to ensure you're using the latest lsws version. #/usr/local/lsws/admin/misc/lsup.sh -f -v 4.2.14 so when it happens again. we know it also exists in latest version.

    4.2.14: Added support for Apache mod_env and mod_setenvif. you can grep -e -i (setenv|browsermatch in .htaccess files, /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf, probably those directives have caused the issue. before 4.2.12(inclusive), those directives are ignored.

    you are right. but .htaccess is read by litespeed web server process -- lshttpd or litespeed, .htaccess is read and parsed by it. on WHM/cPanel, the solution is public_html(document root) with user/group user1:nobody, and permission is 750. so nobody user can read public_html/.htaccess, but...

    will litespeed filter bots automatically ? should not. more likely a mod_security rules configuration issue. lsws web admin->Server->Security->Block Bad Request may relate to it somehow.
