    Page timeout when process hung

Hi, These are set to 0 which I understand disables them. Can you specifically setup the test case I've outlined to see if you reproduce the problem? It could well be a bug. Thanks.

    Page timeout when process hung

Hi, We don't use SuExec on this server. We're literally the only site on the server and no one visits the site yet so this can't be a problem with exhausted resources unless I've set a number very low somewhere but I can't find where. Any other ideas? We don't control the script. Thanks.

    Page timeout when process hung

Hi, When a PHP process is hung waiting for a response from an external website the person that triggered the hung process is no longer able to load pages on the same subdomain they simply timeout. What setting would cause this behaviour I can't seem to track it down? e.g. the person goes...

Slowloris http DDoS attack - is LiteSpeed safe?

So the LiteSpeed DDoS settings are able to cope with this completely different type of DDoS?

Slowloris http DDoS attack - is LiteSpeed safe?

Hi, Please can someone confirm if LiteSpeed is vulnerable to this attack: http://ha.ckers.org/slowloris/?docid=EBFPB_IBPWZWR Apache in most installations is, IIS isn't either is Lighttpd and Cherokee (as far as I understand). Thanks.

Why not install PHP 5.* by default in LWS 4.*

    I agree with this.

    Clients not using Litespeed

I wouldn't get too excited. It's not like LS will publish benchmarks showing them losing to a rival product after all!

    PHP suEXEC

suPHP and SuExec aren't the same thing. suPHP is a big patch to PHP itself, suExec just allows the lsphp processes to run under the username of the owner instead of "nobody". The best way for you to check this is to download the r57/c99 shell yourself and see if you can access files in other...

    How can hide litespeed brand?

Depending on how you run LS custom error pages are one way. Mistwang also said the ability to turn this off will be available to Enterprise customers with v4. However I have not checked to see if this has actually happened in the latest RC. See...

List of features that can't be used if you read from the httpd.conf

Not having a document is fine, but when multiple potential/actual customers ask for one isn't it good customer service to supply it or at least respond in some way? I'm not asking them to draw up an essay here just a quick list of features that wouldn't be available even the most obvious would...

List of features that can't be used if you read from the httpd.conf

Another week goes by, still no answer. What are LiteSpeedTech trying to hide here? This might sounds silly to say but after 2 ignored Sales emails and now a forum posting ignored for 2 weeks it's hard to draw any other conclusion. Consider me a very disappointed potential customer.

List of features that can't be used if you read from the httpd.conf

I'm not sure why this is being ignored. I think it's a perfectly valid question! Features are listed on this website which aren't available to users who use LiteSpeed in a very popular, recommended, configuration. I would simply like to be given a list of features that aren't available so I can...

List of features that can't be used if you read from the httpd.conf

Hi, We know, for example, that chroot of VirtualHosts can't be used when you use LiteSpeed's ability to read directly from the httpd.conf but we're struggling to find out what other features we would miss out on if we used LiteSpeed in this way. Does anyone else know of other features that...

    Rewrite issue

Problem found! The secure virtualhost had override settings and only Auth was selected for .htaccess not the others.

    Rewrite issue

This is already set. The rewrites are logged for other parts of the site but nothing is logged for the above rule. Can you verify that this exact rewrite works fine in a subdomain on your test system?

    Rewrite issue

Hi, We have URL's like this: https://secure.site.com/order/shared/plan They are rewritten using a .htaccess placed in the secure subdomain folder: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^order/shared/plan clients/cart.php [L,NC] This works fine in Apache, but for some reason not in...

apache suphp to litespeed lsapi php suexec

I had my suspicions but didn't want to give incorrect advice as we're currently only trying LiteSpeed out on a mod_php server.

    Can't enable cache

Hmm doesn't sound like the cache feature is going to work very well in a shared hosting environment in this case. Thanks for your detailed reply.

apache suphp to litespeed lsapi php suexec

If your clients use php.ini's to change default PHP settings these will no longer work and will need to be converted to .htaccess php_flag/value directives. I am not entirely sure how LiteSpeed handles folders that under mod_php would have to be 777 but under suPHP are only allowed to be 755...
