I run a very small shared hosting on a dedicated server. Lately one of the site uses little too much httpd processes via their upload.cgi script.

Now I can't really afford the premium version of Lightspeed so I was going to try out lightspeed lite.

Is it worth the install? And will my server be able to take full advantage of the Lite version?

    My server specs:
    Intel Q6600 (Quad core)
    8GM RAM
    1.5 TB, 700GB and 640GB HDD
    on a 1Gbit port.

You should be fine. "Throttle Per Client (Bandwidth or Connection)" is able to limit excessive client access (this is covered in free version). Just be aware of the limitations of the free version (such as no multi-processor scalability, no disk cache support, up to 5 virtual hosts from Apache httpd.conf, etc).
