Site ssl, subdomain no ssl?

Hi,

I have a question, to which the answer is probably no.

I have a Wordpress website mydomain.com, which uses SSL/https. I have no wildcard certificate.
I'd like to turn this Wordpress installment into a multisite installment, where mydomain.com keeps using ssl.

But the subdomain subsite.mydomain.com, should be no ssl, just plain http.


Is that possible at all? Or will I need to get a wildcard certificate?

I think it's possible. just treat the 2 domains as separate ones.
